A central part of Coherta's CSR effort takes place through our work with Kiva. Kiva makes it possible to support entrepreneurs and small businesses through microloans, so more people gain access to capital and the opportunity to develop their business.
For us, it is important that responsibility does not become abstract. That is why we work with a model where our effort can be traced in a real portfolio distributed across countries, sectors and borrowers. It makes CSR concrete, measurable and relevant.
Through Kiva, we help support entrepreneurs across a wide range of markets where access to financing is often a real barrier. This aligns with Coherta's fundamental view of value: that strong business and responsibility can go hand in hand.
Why it matters
From donation to demonstrable impact
We have chosen Kiva because the model makes it possible to see how capital is distributed and what types of businesses it supports. This provides a more transparent CSR effort than broad statements without substance.
Our portfolio is particularly weighted towards markets such as the Philippines, Kenya, Madagascar and Uganda, and the largest sector share is within Agriculture, Retail and Food. This shows a clear emphasis on local operations, trade, food supply and small businesses' ability to grow.
We see it as a practical way to connect Danish growth with global opportunities. When Coherta creates value in the home market, we also want to help create opportunities elsewhere.
